After last class, all we needed to do was narrow down our ideas and come up with a clear concept for the game we'd like to make. We had a discussion and concluded that we want to combine a platform and rhythm game with a birds-eye view perspective. Within the game, the goal will be to jump from square to square on rhythm while avoiding targets and collecting power-ups.
Here where some of the ideas we went over:
- First person shooter
- Space ship dodging asteroids
- Platform
- Rhythm
- Platform + rhythm
- Platform + rhythm + shooter
- Platform -> rhythm -> shooter
Before next class, we are all tasked to come up with power-up and obstacle ideas. As well, each of us need to bring some materials to class tomorrow to help create the paper prototype. Due to this still being the brainstorming phase, we are all tasked with the same thing.
